More Polar Bear

More from www.iapprovethismessiah.com:

This PDF on Rev. Moon's idea for a tunnel linking Alaska and Russia -- on the premise that that God wants a trans-Pacific commuter route named for the Reverend -- pauses only very briefly to survey the risk posed to the project by angry, tunnel-hating eco-nuts.

"It's possible that environmental groups will oppose the tunnel construction and demand the preservation of the polar region's ecosystem and the protection of polar bears and seals. "Therefore before starting construction, public opinion polls must be carried out all over the world and it is absolutely essential that a public relations campaign to educate environmental groups, concerned organizations and residents near the proposed construction sites be carried out as well."

But why wait for the public relations campaign? We could send letters now. Here's my first draft:

Thank you for providing information about Reverend Moon's "World Peace King Bridge-Tunnel." I am very interested in this project.

I like that it's "future-friendly," and I LOVE the image on page 23. The World Peace King Bridge-Tunnel is taller than, like, the ocean!

Do you possibly know who I might contact for more information? As an environmentalist, I appreciate the Church's desire to reach out to environmentalists about this issue.

But I don't need to wait for the U.N. to persuade me -- I'll bring my questions directly to you! I would like to explore several issues, including:

1) Can the Reverend spare a million or two every year to support Amtrak, aka The Peace Train? This could also support its expansion to Alaska, per page 33.

2) In light of his hope for "a new era of automobile travel," how does the Reverend feel about recent arguments suggesting we've nearly passed "peak oil," and that fossil fuel-based transport faces a limited future? Could he invest in developing alternate fuels or modes of transport to bring us into this "new era?" This would also cut down on our need to dominate other countries for their resources, = PEACE.

3) Has the Reverend considered a bridge allowing a person to drive from the Bahamas to the United States, as first proposed by the band The Dead Milkmen?

4) Will the Peace King Tunnel-Bridge have bicycle lanes? This is very important. It should also accommodate dogsled teams. (Especially since there is no ground transportation to either end of the Bridge-Tunnel.)

5) How would the construction of pipelines and the World King Bridge-Tunnel affect the majestic whale, closely linked to polar bears?

6) If Moon decides not to expand the use of fossil fuels, perhaps he could build the World Peace King Sailboat Fleet, complemented by the World Peace King Repository of Freely Available Bicycles To Borrow at key destinations? This would cost much less than $15 billion or so for a World Tunnel-Bridge.

7) I appreciate the Reverend's regard for "numerous floating icebergs crashing against the bridge during the winter" and for the total lack of winter sunlight, in his subsequent decision to build a Peace King Bridge-Tunnel instead of a Peace King Bridge. But what about seismic issues? Would frequent earthquakes in this region suggest that burrowing through the earth is not truly "God's fervent desire?"

8) Would it be more cost-efficient to simply reverse global warming and hopefully prompt a return of the Ice Ages? The lowering of sea level would connect many two continents (not just Alaska & Russia), it would also expand polar bear habitat!

Thank you for any help you can provide in suggesting to whom I should address these issues....

As a former member of Moon's Unification Church, I can testify from having heard him speak many times that Moon's sole obsession is to make himself appear important. He desperately wants to be perceived by others as the man who changed everything and is at the crux of history. That is why he comes up with these bizarre mega-projects. A few years ago he was touting a tunnel from Japan to Korea. Is Moon really aware of the practical obstacles these projects present? Nah. He just wants to take credit for "thinking big" even if he also happens to be "thinking stupid".
